TrailVu Course Visualiser
Your runners carefully study your course for months. A PDF map simply isn't enough.
Introducing an interactive course map for your race website.

It's an interactive map and elevation profile built from a single GPX file, enriched with terrain data, then customised with your race data. See below the course map and profile for Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB):
Course visualiser features
Everything your runners need to know about the course, in one place:
- Interactive course map: Zoom, pan and follow the full route, with every checkpoint and aid station marked.
- Vertical profile: See the elevation profile alongside the map, so runners understand every climb and descent before they reach it.
- Segmented race analysis: Break the course into its natural sections between aid stations, and study each leg on its own.
- Aid stations: See exactly where each aid station is, with its cut-off time.
- Road vs trail: See exactly which parts of the course are on road and which are on trail.
- Key course stats: Total distance, elevation gain and checkpoint count.
Set up for your event
We build the visualiser from your race data, so it shows your course exactly as it is:
- Your course: Built from your latest GPX, and updated whenever the route changes, right up to race day.
- Aid stations and key points: Every aid station pinned at its real location, with its cut-off time.
- Map and units: Runners can switch between base map styles and between metric and imperial.
Coming soon
We're building tools so you can control what your runners see yourself:
- Your course, your updates: Upload your latest GPX and update it yourself whenever the route changes.
- Pin your own points: Place aid stations, plus any other point that matters, such as crew access, drop bags or viewpoints.
- Aid station details: Tell runners what's on offer at each stop.
- Default base map: Choose the map style that best suits your terrain.
- Default units: Set metric or imperial as the default for your runners.
- Colour scheme: Match the visualiser to your event's colours so it feels part of your site.
- Try before you buy: Customise a visualiser for your course before you decide whether you want to use it for your event.
How it works on your site
Adding the visualiser to your site takes one short piece of code, called an iframe. Think of it as a window on your page that shows your TrailVu course map. Paste it wherever you want the map to appear:
<iframe src="https://visualiser.trailvu.com/?race=your-event" style="width: 100%; height: 640px; border: 0;" title="Course map for Your Event" loading="lazy"></iframe> Here's how this iframe works:
- Nothing to install: Works with Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, Webflow and any site that lets you add an HTML or embed block.
- Always up to date: When your course changes, we update it and the map on your site updates too. You never need to touch the code again.
- Kept separate from your site: The visualiser runs in its own frame, so it can't clash with your site's design or code.
